    This dataset is the Housing Unit Density (HUDen) raster for the United States. It is part of the data publication Wildfire Risk to Communities: Spatial datasets of wildfire risk for populated areas in the United States. HUDen is a nationwide raster of housing-unit density measured in housing units per square kilometer. It reflects 2018 estimates of housing unit and population counts from the U.S. Census Bureau, combined with building footprint data from Microsoft (version 1.1), LandScan where building footprint data were unavailable, and land cover data from LANDFIRE.Metadata and Downloads.Note:�Pixel values in this image service have been altered from the original raster dataset due to data requirements in web services. The service is intended primarily for data visualization. Relative values and spatial patterns have been largely preserved in the service, but users are encouraged to download the source data for quantitative analysis.
