Published by NOAA National Centers for Environmental Information | National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, Department of Commerce | Catalog Last Checked: August 03, 2026 at 08:03 AM | Dataset Last Updated: January 26, 2026 at 12:00 AM
This dataset includes data from surveys of coral communities in the American Samoa Archipelago covering the island of Tutuila and the Manu'a Group of islands (Ofu, Olosega, and Tau) in 1995, 1998, and 2002. Data were analysed to investigate changes in coral colony size structure, cover, and density, and to interpret community dynamics. This dataset also includes a systematic inventory of conspicuous marine macro-invertebrates observations.
