    • SSI Applications in Underserved Zip Codes FY 2021-2023

    The Social Security Administration (SSA) Agency Priority Goals (APG) for Fiscal Year (FY) 2023 included a metric for Supplemental Security Income (SSI) applications received in Zip Codes designated as underserved. SSA defined underserved Zip Codes for this APG as Zip Codes with a 30+% decline is SSI applications between FY 2019 and FY 2021 and that had population characteristics of a majority of: people of color (100% minus percent of white non-Hispanic residents), and/or residents living at or below 150% of the Federal Poverty Threshold.
