Sediment Data From Vibracores Collected at Lake Maggiore, St. Petersburg, Florida
Scientists from the U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) St. Petersburg Coastal and Marine Science Center (SPCMSC) collected sediment vibracores at Lake Maggiore, St. Petersburg, Florida on July 24, 2025. A total of five vibracores were collected at three sites, with approximate recovery lengths between 1.28 meters (m) to 2.47 m. Three of the vibracores were collected using an electric vibracorer and two were collected using a mechanical vibracorer. Sedimentologic data published in this data release includes descriptive core site information and composite core photographs, which can be utilized to study the geomorphic evolution of Lake Maggiore. Data acquisition and processing methods were modified from Bernier and others (2024).
