LAPD NIBRS Offenses Dataset 2026 to Present

Published by data.lacity.org | City of Los Angeles | Catalog Last Checked: May 04, 2026 at 02:25 PM | Dataset Last Updated: April 28, 2026
Effective March 7, 2024, the Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) implemented a new Records Management System aligned with the FBI’s National Incident Based Reporting System (NIBRS). NIBRS captures more detailed information per incident than the previous Uniform Crime Reporting (UCR) system, which may result in higher counts because multiple offenses within a single incident are reported individually. More information about NIBRS can be found on the FBI’s website: https://www.fbi.gov/how-we-can-help-you/more-fbi-services-and-information/ucr/nibrs This dataset reflects NIBRS formatted crime incidents reported to LAPD through the year 2026, occurring in the City of Los Angeles. This dataset includes three additional data elements: • The hundred block location of the incident • The latitude of that hundred block • The longitude of that hundred block These elements enhance geographic accuracy while maintaining privacy protections and support improved spatial analysis of crime trends across the city.
