This data table contains statewide counts for every diagnosis code (ICD-9-CM) reported on the hospital emergency department data. A principal and up to 24 secondary diagnosis codes may be reported on each emergency department record. Note: Patients treated in the Emergency Department and then admitted to the hospital (ED Admits) are included in the hospital inpatient data only, not here.
