This data table contains statewide counts for every external cause of injury/morbidity code (ICD-9-CM or ICD-10-CM) reported on the hospital emergency department data. Up to 12 external cause of injury/morbidity codes may be reported on each emergency department record. ICD-10 replaced ICD-9, effective October 1, 2015. Note: Patients treated in the Emergency Department and then admitted to the hospital (ED Admits) are included in the hospital inpatient data only, not here.
