Selected depth bathythermograph (SBT) data from ACT 3, ACT 6, and others in the Arabian Sea, Bismarck Sea, and others from 1985-01-01 to 1985-12-31 (NCEI Accession 8700257)

This dataset includes selected depth bathythermograph (SBT) data from ACT 3, ACT 6, CORIOLIS, DILKARA, GAUGIN, JEBSEN SOUTHLAND, LILLOOET, MELBOURNE STAR, MICRONESIAN COMMERCE, MICRONESIAN INDEPENDENCE, PACIFIC ISLANDER, PARALLA, POLYNESIA, RODIN, ROSTAND, ROUSSEAU, SIRIUS, SOUTH ISLANDER, and UNKNOWN PLATFORMS OF UNITED STATES in the Arabian Sea, Bismarck Sea, Coral Sea, Indian Ocean, North Pacific Ocean, Philippine Sea, Solomon Sea, South Pacific Ocean, and Tasman Sea from 1985-01-01 to 1985-12-31. Data has been processed by NODC to the NODC standard Selected Depth Bathythermograph (SBT) (C125) format. The UBT (C125) format contains temperature-depth profile data obtained using expendable bathythermograph (XBT) instruments. Cruise information, position, date and time were reported for each observation. The data records are comprised of pairs of temperature-depth values. Depths are selected by the originator - usually at standard horizons or some fixed interval. Standard XBTs can obtain profiles to depths of either 450 or 760 m. Special instruments permitted measurements to be obtained to 1830 m.
