This dataset includes selected depth bathythermograph (SBT) data from ALLUNGA, CORIOLIS, DILKARA, ELBE, FELICIA, HACHIYO MARU, HUPEH, ILE MAURICE, LILLOOET, MOSEL EXPRESS, NICKEL 1, PACIFIC ISLANDER, PARALLA, POLYNESIA, POYANG, RODIN, ROSTAND, ROUSSEAU, UNKNOWN PLATFORMS OF FRANCE, UNKNOWN PLATFORMS OF JAPAN, and VAUBAN in the Bismarck Sea, Coral Sea, East China Sea, North Pacific Ocean, Philippine Sea, Solomon Sea, South China Sea, South Pacific Ocean, and Tasman Sea from 1979-06-07 to 1983-12-28. Data has been processed by NODC to the NODC standard Selected Depth Bathythermograph (SBT) (C125) format. The UBT (C125) format contains temperature-depth profile data obtained using expendable bathythermograph (XBT) instruments. Cruise information, position, date and time were reported for each observation. The data records are comprised of pairs of temperature-depth values. Depths are selected by the originator - usually at standard horizons or some fixed interval. Standard XBTs can obtain profiles to depths of either 450 or 760 m. Special instruments permitted measurements to be obtained to 1830 m.
