Water temperature, air temperature, and sensor depth data from select locations in the Big Soos Creek basin, WA from April 2023 to June 2024

Published by U.S. Geological Survey | Department of the Interior | Catalog Last Checked: August 01, 2026 at 04:44 AM | Dataset Last Updated: March 27, 2025 at 12:00 AM
These data were collected as part of a larger project to support Total Maximum Daily Load (TMDL) modeling in the Big Soos Creek basin. Water temperature, air temperature and sensor depth were collected from four sites in the Big Soos Creek basin; LITTLE SOOS CREEK BELOW LAKE YOUNGS NEAR KENT, WA (USGS site ID 12109400), JENKINS CREEK AT 188TH AVE SE NEAR KENT, WA (USGS site ID 12110300), COVINGTON CR ABV SE 328TH PL NR BLACK DIAMOND, WA (USGS site ID 12111800), and SOOSETTE CREEK AT SE 288TH ST NEAR KENT, WA (USGS site ID 12112400). Data was collected at 15-minute intervals from April 2023 until June 2024 using Hobo U20L-04 sensors that simultaneously measured temperature and pressure. Sensor depth was used as a surrogate for water depth and represents the depth of water above the sensor location in the water column. All data were analyzed and approved following USGS continuous data processing procedures.
