Water-quality data for treated drinking water and treated wastewater effluent at Fort Irwin National Training Center, California
Fort Irwin National Training Center uses treated groundwater for both drinking and irrigation purposes. Wastewater is treated locally at Fort Irwin National Training Center using tertiary treatment methods and the treated wastewater effluent is discharged into percolation ponds and allowed to percolate into the local groundwater system. Specific conductance, total dissolved solids, nitrate, and nitrite were all measured in samples of treated drinking water and wastewater effluent by personnel at the Fort Irwin National Training Center. Data presented in this data release are used in U.S. Geological Survey Scientific Investigations Report 2025-5105 (Densmore and others, 2025) to evaluate the quality of water that is recharged into the Langford Valley–Irwin groundwater subbasin.
