Videos taken in support of Image Velocimetry at the Arkansas River at Parkdale, CO March 20–21, 2018

Metadata Updated: October 28, 2023

Videos and imagery collected of the Arkansas River at Parkdale, CO on March 20–21, 2018 as part of the US Geological Survey (USGS) "2018 Airshow". These videos capture ground conditions of river flow at three locations in the vicinity of the USGS 07094500 Arkansas River at Parkdale, CO streamgage. The videos were captured by either a tripod-mounted digital camera, smartphone, or unmanned aerial system. All videos are named according to the date, time, and location of acquisition. Included with each video is an image with annotation indicating ground control points. The absolute distances between each ground control points are described in the included "Sensor_Cameras.csv" table on which this metadata is based. The videos and a copy of the “Sensor_Cameras.csv” file are included in a nine-part multi-part zip archive. The use of multi-part zip archives enables downloads of very large files. To view the videos in the multi-part zip archive, download all nine files to a local directory: - Sensor_Cameras.zip.001 - Sensor_Cameras.zip.002 - Sensor_Cameras.zip.003 - Sensor_Cameras.zip.004 - Sensor_Cameras.zip.005 - Sensor_Cameras.zip.006 - Sensor_Cameras.zip.007 - Sensor_Cameras.zip.008 - Sensor_Cameras.zip.009 Then, extract the multi-part zip archive using appropriate software that has support for multi-part files (7-zip or WinRAR for example). Also included in this data release are the message-digest (md5) file hashes which can be used to verify the checksums of the individual multi-part zip files. To make use of the md5 hashes, download the multipart zip archives, then use a md5 hash generator (Get-FileHash in Windows Powershell, md5 in MacOS, or md5sum in Linux) to compare the hash of the downloaded file to the hash contained in the respective *.md5 file included in this data release. If the file was properly downloaded and there are no issues with file integrity the hash values will match.
