Vegetation and habitat dataset for 2023 CASC and NPS field sites, Sky Islands and Mogollon Plateau, U.S. and Mexico
This multi-part, muti-scaled dataset summaries information from field sampling of vegetation plots on the structure and composition of vegetation and habitats that were also sampled for bird communities. Estimates are based on standardized assessments methods such as distance sampling, point-intercept methods, and censuses or stem counts that measure basal area, vegetation cover and physiognomy, snag densities, tree height, abundances of conifer seedlings and saplings, and other parameters. Data and methods used to gather data are summarized for each of 6 data files included in the dataset, with definitions and a detailed data dictionary provided in the data release.
