Tower - TTU (SWiFT) Tower, All levels - Processed Data

Published by Wind Energy Technologies Office (WETO) | Department of Energy | Catalog Last Checked: March 23, 2026 at 09:37 PM | Dataset Last Updated: October 11, 2021 at 12:00 AM
**Overview** This dataset includes processed sonic anemometer measurements at the 200-m SWIFT tower near Lubbock, Texas on July 4, 2012. Observations are of a canonical convective atmospheric boundary layer. Subgrid stresses and fluxes are computed by subtracting 15-min running average from the signals measured at 1 Hz. **Data Quality** Sonic anemometer tilt correction algorithm is applied to velocity components following Wilczak, Oncley, and Stage, 2001, "Sonic Anemometer Tilt Correction Algorithms," Boundary Layer Meteor., 99, pp. 127-150. **Uncertainty** Wind velocity measurements are from Gill R3 50 sonic anemometers at 10 levels. Accuracy of the wind speed and direction is given by the manufacturer at .
