Direct Download (Raster Data Gateway)Objective: Identify locations where roads are present at a density that impacts the quality of wildlife habitat and fragments the landscape.Data: A national roads vector dataset has been acquired from the USGS National Transportation Dataset. The data were reattributed to represent three classes: (1) Unimproved, (2) Paved, (3) Light Duty roads. The new classes correspond to the following classes from the National Transportation Dataset:Unimproved: Four-wheel drive roads.Paved: Controlled access highway, Secondary Highway or Major Connecting Road, RampsLight Duty: Local Connecting Roads, Local RoadsData Format: Polylines were converted to a raster for each TCA assessment year. The value at a pixel corresponds to the class of road at that location. Values differ slightly between the years:2024: 1- Light Duty, 2- Paved, 3- Unimproved, 4- Other2023: 1- Light Duty, 2- Paved, 3- Unimproved, 4- Other2022: 1- Light Duty, 2- Paved, 3- Unimproved2021: 1- Light Duty, 2- Paved, 3- Unimproved2020: 1- Light Duty, 2- Paved, 3- Unimproved, 4- Other, 5- DecommissionedSpatial Resolution: 10mSource data: USGS National Transportation DatasetAdditional Resources:Details on Method Changes and Source Data VersionsOverview of the Terrestrial Condition Assessment: TCA Hubsite or Landfire Office Hour PresentationExplore the results of the most recent assessment: TCA Interactive Data ViewerLearn more about the TCA KPI: TCA Dashboard*if you have trouble viewing the Dashboard, please submit a Tableau Viewer Access Request
