Published by U.S. Geological Survey | Department of the Interior | Catalog Last Checked: August 01, 2026 at 05:01 AM | Dataset Last Updated: April 09, 2026 at 12:00 AM
This dataset represents active relocations of telemetry tagged Black Carp in the Mississippi and Osage rivers of Missouri and efforts to recapture these tagged fish for recovery of data logging tags by a suite of gears and techniques. We actively relocated tagged fish and targeted individuals with gill nets and trammel nets with electrofishing or physical disturbance of the water column by boat as a driving method, trotlines, and hoop nets in 2022 and 2023. We used hoop nets to target the prior consistent areas of use for attempted recapture in 2024. All fish and turtle species catch by individual nets are reported in the dataset along with length of select species.
