Street Signs
A. SUMMARY
Inventory of signs on public streets and sidewalks owned and maintained by MTA. Includes street signs such as stop signs, traffic lights, directional signs, parking signs, transit lanes, etc.
B. HOW THE DATASET IS CREATED
The dataset is derived from MTA's Sign Shop asset inventory. This inventory may not contain all signs in the roadway and is continually being updated and enhanced to provide the most up to date information on MTA-owned signs.
C. UPDATE PROCESS
The source data is maintained by the MTA Sign Shop and updated as needed in MTA's internal spatial data store.
D. HOW TO USE THIS DATASET
Many of the signs have been assigned to the nearest intersection or midblock point and may not indicate the exact location of a sign. The dataset has not been fully validated and should be used with caution.
