Streamflow-duration values for central and western Colorado, 2019
The U.S. Geological Survey (USGS), in cooperation with the Colorado Department of Transportation, developed peak-, mean-, and low-streamflow regional-regression equations for natural streamflow in central and western Colorado. This data release includes geographic information systems data and hydrologic data that were compiled, processed, and analyzed for this peak-, mean-, and low-streamflow study. Daily mean streamflow vales for the 418 streamgages were downloaded from the USGS National Water Information System database and the Colorado Division of Water Resources (CODWR) database through water year 2019. Streamflow duration values were computed by ranking the daily mean streamflow values for the period of record that is representative of unregulated streamflow conditions and linearly interpolating to the 10, 25, 50, 75, and 90 exceedance percentiles using the R package EGRET. Data from streamgages that were operated seasonally were omitted from this computation so to not bias the statistics. Data from streamgages without 10 years of daily mean streamflow were also not included. This child page includes text files in the Streamflow_duration zip folder with flow duration values for 358 streamgages using the file naming convention 'FlowDuration_XXXXXXXX_070120.txt', where XXXXXXXX is the USGS or CODWR site number.
