Streambed sediment chemistry data from the Florida River and its tributaries in southern Colorado, May and August–September, 2022

Published by U.S. Geological Survey | Department of the Interior | Catalog Last Checked: August 01, 2026 at 05:29 AM | Dataset Last Updated: December 09, 2025 at 12:00 AM
This dataset contains the results of wavelength dispersive x-ray fluorescence (WDXRF), loss on ignition (LOI), and five-stage sequential extraction analyses performed on streambed sediments from the Florida River and two of its tributaries, Pine Creek and Salt Creek, within the Southern Ute Indian Reservation in southern Colorado. The sediments were collected during two sampling events in May 2022 and August–September 2022. The sediment chemistry will aid investigators in understanding the sources of aluminum to the Florida River.
