S&T Project 21077 Data: Reservoir Drawdown Flushing Geospatial Data

This study employs SRH-2D to investigate the impact of reservoir geometry on drawdown flushing efficiency. The model was first calibrated using data from a 2014 flushing event, reproducing observed sediment release concentrations and loads. To examine the influence of reservoir shape, simulations were conducted with various modified geometries. Two approaches were employed: 1) altering reservoir width at different depths while maintaining constant capacity and 2) modifying reservoir width at ratios (0.5, 1, 2, 4) relative to the original width, with corresponding capacity adjustments. This folder includes all the reservoir surfaces of original Paonia Reservoir, and modified reservoir surfaces based on these two approaches described above. Users and interested parties should reference the accompanying report for further information on how these surfaces were created and used.

The ReservoirSedimentFlushingGISData.zip file contains all the necessary Geographic Information System (GIS) data for this study. This includes the shapefiles that represent various geographical features relevant to the analysis, and Reservoir Surface Files (TIN format) that depict the original surface of Paonia Reservoir, along with simulated surfaces created to evaluate the effectiveness of drawdown flushing on different reservoir types. The compressed file contains several subfolders, most of which have clear and descriptive names.
