This indicator measures the number of households in Spokane County, with an internet connection of any kind. Washington State and the U.S. are offered as benchmarks. As internet access and computer use have grown in importance to American household, corporate and government users, Census officials have begun to track data related to Internet use and computer ownership. The internet has transformed the lives of most who have access to it. Essentially, much of the information and the tools offered on the internet used to take hours or days to procure, if it was available at all. Yet, not all Americans have access to the internet.
