This file contains species persistence indicator information for fish and invertebrate species caught in NOAA Fisheries fishery-independent surveys. Species persistence trends are categorized as Persistently Present, Emerged, Potentially Emerging, Potentially Disappearing, Disappeared, Sporadic - Primarily Present, and Sporadic - Primarily Absent. The data were produced for the Distribution Mapping and Analysis Portal (DisMAP) project's species persistence module. This data set covers 8 regions of the United States: Northeast, Southeast, Gulf of Mexico, West Coast, Bering Sea, Aleutian Islands, Gulf of Alaska, and Hawai'i islands.
