Material characterization using scanning electron microscopy (SEM, Hitachi SU8020, Japan) and energy spectrometry (EDS), Fourier transform infrared (FTIR, Nichlet IS 10, USA) spectroscopy, X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS, Thermo escalab 250Xi, USA) and X-ray diffraction (XRD, BRUCKER D8 ADVANCE, Germany). This dataset is not publicly accessible because: None-EPA data - owned by the University of Florida. It can be accessed through the following means: Contact Dr. Yue Zhang at the University of Florida at 352-871-2488 . Format: The data included in the manuscript: Heavy metal sorption data in Excel; Images of scanning electron microscopy (SEM, Hitachi SU8020, Japan) and energy spectrometry (EDS). Spectra of Fourier transform infrared (FTIR, Nichlet IS 10, USA) spectroscopy, X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS, Thermo escalab 250Xi, USA), and X-ray diffraction (XRD, BRUCKER D8 ADVANCE, Germany).
