This dataset includes all Recycling Facility and Clean Construction Demolition Debris (CCDD) Fill Operation permits reviewed by the Cook County Department of Environment & Sustainability. Recycling facilities include any building or area in which recyclable material is collected, stored, or processed for the purpose of marketing the material for use in the manufacturing process of new, reused, or reconstituted products. It does not include motor vehicle repair shops which store used parts, drop-off centers or compost operations accumulating less than 25 cubic yards of compostable material at a time, or compost operations where compostable material is used exclusively on site. CCDD fill operations are current or former quarries, mines, or other excavations where clean construction or demolition debris (as defined by Section 3.160(b) of the Illinois Environmental Protection Act) is used as fill material. Data provided is sourced from completed permit applications and may be subject to user error. Please exercise caution and do not consider building-specific information from this dataset to be authoritative. Permit applications that are under review are not included in this dataset.
