Sediment core chemistry and isotopic data in Lake Koocanusa and Kootenai River Basin, fall 2023
This data release includes analyses of core samples collected from Lake Koocanusa and the Kootenai River Basin in British Columbia, Canada and Montana, United States during September and October 2023. Samples were collected by the U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) Wyoming-Montana Water Science Center (WY-MT WSC) in cooperation with the Government of Alberta. Five sediment cores and one surface sediment sample were analyzed for polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs), radiochemistry for age dating, carbon and nitrogen stable isotopes, and 61 elements in two fine-grained fractions (particles finer than 63 microns and particles finer than 150 microns in diameter).
