This dataset contains sea surface temperature data collected from 1906 to 1983 from vessels world-wide. Two magnetic tapes were submitted by Dr. Osamu Yamada of the Japanese Oceanographic Data Center, Maritime Safety Agency; Hydrographic Division, Tokyo, Japan. Data were collected by various methods (XBT, MBT, SD); parameters include latitude, longitude, and temperature. The documentation includes the record format and a sample tape dump.
