"RV Manta - FGBNMS - FGBNMS-17-20-ROV_RESTORE_MT17.nc - 29.03N, 94.49W - 2017-10-10"
We will use the R/V MANTA and the Remotely Operated Vessel (ROV) Mohawk for 5 days at sea to localize and sample coral specimens from mesophotic habitats in the Flower Garden Banks National Marine Sanctuary, between 50 (150 ft) and 150 meters (350 ft). These samples will be preserved onboard for genetic studies. This cruise is part of the NOAA RESTORE Act project titled: �Population Connectivity of Deepwater Corals in the Northern Gulf of Mexico�.
