Published by National Park Service | Department of the Interior | Catalog Last Checked: August 01, 2026 at 03:57 AM | Dataset Last Updated: March 31, 2026 at 12:00 AM
Fire effects monitoring data collected at Rocky Mountain National Park in Intermountain Region. The data were collected during summer field seasons by the Rocky Mountain National Park based fire effects monitoring crew from 1998-2025. Data collected from shrub and/or grass transects are 30 meter point intercept data to obtain relative and percent cover. Shrub density data is also measured using brush belts along the same transect. Photographs are taken from each end of the transect to document change. Data collected from 50 x 20 m forest plots include tree inventory to obtain density and basal area, fuel load using Brown's method for inventorying surface fuels and biomass, seedling density, as well as all shrub transect methods. Field data also include Rapid Assessment plots and TLS scans.
