Proton-Contaminated Alpha Differential Energy Flux measured by the PSP SPAN-Ion Instrument

Published by NASA Space Physics Data Facility (SPDF) Data Services | National Aeronautics and Space Administration | Catalog Last Checked: June 23, 2026 at 09:14 PM | Dataset Last Updated: June 22, 2026
Parker Solar Probe SPAN-I Alpha particle differential energy flux (contaminated by Protons) dataset covers 8 defector settings, 32 energies, and 8 angles. The log spaced energy range covers 21.0 eV to 17.6 keV. The field of view covers the entire sky except for the region obscured by the heat shield. \n Due to heat shield, the centroid of the solar wind alpha particle distribution is typically only observed around perihelion. The mode of the cadence is about 3.5 seconds, with smaller cadence of about 1.7 seconds around perihelion.
