Photogrammetric DEM of Site E1, Flight 1, Turtle Creek, Pennsylvania

Published by U.S. Geological Survey | Department of the Interior | Catalog Last Checked: August 01, 2026 at 06:16 AM | Dataset Last Updated: June 24, 2026 at 12:00 AM
The raster dataset is a high-resolution (0.1 m) digital elevation model (DEM) of Turtle Creek and its surrounding area. An unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) was used to collect high resolution 2D imagery during the leaf-off season to mitigate the impact of above-ground vegetation. Real time kinematic (RTK) global positioning system (GPS) was collected during the flights and used as ground control in image processing and analysis. The collected images were photogrammetrically processed in Agisoft Metashape software (v. 2.1.1.) to derive an orthomosaic and DEM. See Process Steps section for detailed photogrammetric processing methods.
