The dataset provides the annual estimate of per capita personal consumption expenditures (PCE) for Iowa as provided by the U.S. Department of Commerce, Bureau of Economic Analysis, Table SAPCE2. Estimates are not adjusted for inflation. Per capita PCE is total PCE divided by total midyear population. Population is based on U.S. Census Bureau decennial counts using the Das Gupta method to produce the intercensal population figures for the years between decennial censuses. PCE represent the total goods and services purchased by, or on behalf of, people living in Iowa. It provides insight into the strength of Iowa's economy and consumers' buying trends.
