Per Capita Disposable Income by Year for State of Iowa
This dataset provides the annual per capita disposable personal income of individuals living in Iowa beginning in 1948 as provided by the U.S. Department of Commerce, Bureau of Economic Analysis, Table SAINC51, Line Code 53.
Per capita disposable personal income is total disposable personal income divided by total midyear population. Population is based on U.S. Census Bureau decennial counts using the Das Gupta method to produce the intercensal population figures for the years between decennial censuses. Disposable personal income is after-tax income. The amount that Iowa residents have left to spend or save after paying taxes is important not just to individuals but to the whole economy. The formula is personal income minus personal current taxes. The personal income from wages, proprietors' income, dividends, interest, rents, and government benefits.
