Pea Ridge National Military Park FFI Fire Effects Monitoring Data
Fire effects monitoring data collected at Pea Ridge National Military Park in Arkansas. The data were collected during summer field seasons by the fire effects monitoring crew out of Ozark National Scenic Riverways from 2002 to 2025. Data collected from FMH-style 50 x 20 m "forest" plots in both savanna (code QUMA for Quercus marilandica) and dry woodland (code OAHI for Oak-Hickory) natural communities include; tree inventory to obtain species, density, and basal area, fuel load using 4 Brown's method transects for inventorying surface fuels and biomass (2002-2015), tree seedling species and density from a 5 x 10 m subplot, vegetative cover using the point intercept method (2007-2025) for all species below 2 m high every 0.3 m along two 50 m transects, species richness (2006-2025) using 1 x 1 m quadrats every 10 m along two 50 m transects and a total of 8 plot photos are taken at corners and midpoints along plot perimeter lines.
