Paterson Great Falls National Historical Park Tract and Boundary Data

Published by National Park Service | Department of the Interior | Catalog Last Checked: August 01, 2026 at 04:05 AM | Dataset Last Updated: May 11, 2015 at 12:00 AM
The data were created using a combination of survey data aqcquired by and for the NPS and property tax parcel data provided by the City of Paterson. Some tax parcels were split and a portion of the split parcel used to create the NPS tract. A combination of survey and tax parcel boundary lines were also used to define the park boundary generally following the line defined in the park enabling legislation and in the legislative map. The legislative map boundary was modified slightly to follow the parcel lines and modified slightly in some areas to reflect NPS intentions as developed during the planning process. Preliminary tract numbers (P-tracts) were assigned by NPS Regional Cartographic staff and are subject to change. Significant ground survey, subdivision, and easement creation are currently in progress and may result in significant changes to these data. Users should contact the Regional Lands office with any questions regarding the quality or currency of these data. These ESRI shape files are of National Park Service tract and boundary data that was created by the Land Resources Division. Tracts are numbered and created by the regional cartographic staff at the Land Resources Program Centers and are associated to the Land Status Maps. This data should be used to display properties that NPS owns and properties that NPS may have some type of interest such as scenic easements or right of ways. {Provide addition descriptions of the data set if necessary.}
