    The assembly has a valve adjusting unit (16) moved between adjusting positions using an electromagnetic actuator (14). A valve adjusting lever (18) is coupled with the unit (16) via a slide that is supported in the unit (16). The actuator has an anchor section (40) that is supported in a coil arrangement and is displaced in an axial direction during excitation of the arrangement. A guide sleeve (60) made of a soft-magnetic material is fixed in the arrangement. An outer surface of the section is coated with friction-resistant material Teflon(RTM: Polytetrafluoroethylene). An independent claim is also included for an electromagnetic actuator for a valve arrangement.
