The supporting disk (1) has a first supporting ring (3) on the periphery of a bearing ring (2) and being made of an elastic polymeric material. A side ring (7) provided on the first side of the bearing ring is disposed at a distance from the outer edge of the bearing ring. A second supporting ring (10) is provided on the periphery of the side ring. Holding members (9) connect the side ring to the bearing ring. An independent claim is also included for a method for manufacturing a supporting disk for providing bearing support to a rotor of an open-end spinning machine.
