In a process to fix a road crash barrier (9) to the road surface, the L-shaped crash barrier base (9, 10) is attached to the road surface (18) by a hexagonal bolt (13) with a threaded shank (14) and washer (12). The bolt has a core diameter DK, a thread diameter DG, and a screw-depth of LE. The screw enters the asphalt to a depth of LB where it is anchored in the hole (7) by a fluid mass (8) to a depth of LF. The installation is described by the relationship: DB DG, DB DK, LB LE and O, 2 LE 0.8 LE. The bolt is anchored in a hardened bonding agent which penetrates into surrounding pores.
