    The device has a bolt comprising housings intended to cooperate with contiguous movable bodies (4, 4`). A finger (8) unblocks and frees the bodies, and automatically houses one of the bodies in one of the housings when the bolt is in position of blocking of a steering column. The housings are situated on both side of a median line, virtually delimiting a face of a small side of the bolt.
