Published by U.S. Geological Survey | Department of the Interior | Catalog Last Checked: May 05, 2026 at 07:45 PM | Dataset Last Updated: April 08, 2025 at 12:00 AM
Laser ablation inductively coupled mass spectrometry was used to quantify Strontium:Calcium of the core of each otolith and classified each fish to a natal origin (i.e., tributary or potential resident). Predator fishes of focus were Bowfin and Largemouth Bass from the Upper Mississippi River (Pools 4, 8, and 13).
