Published by Office of National Marine Sanctuaries | National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, Department of Commerce | Catalog Last Checked: August 11, 2026 at 09:34 PM | Dataset Last Updated: January 01, 2000 at 12:00 AM
OCNMS collects logged and near real-time biogeochemical environmental data within Olympic Coast National Marine Sanctuary, primarily during the summer upwelling season between April and October. Up to fifteen moorings are placed at locations with water depths between 15m and 100m to collect oceanographic measurements via instruments that record conditions throughout the water column. Overwinter moorings that primarily measure temperature are placed at some sites.
