NSDUH Public Use Files
The National Survey on Drug Use and Health (NSDUH) dataset series is an annual, nationally representative survey conducted by the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) to measure substance use, mental health, and treatment trends among the U.S. civilian, noninstitutionalized population ages 12 and older. The survey collects information on the use of tobacco, alcohol, illicit drugs, mental health conditions, and access to and use of treatment services. NSDUH provides critical data that informs public health policy, prevention and treatment programs, and research at the national, state, and local levels. Its findings help policymakers and health professionals monitor behavioral health trends and identify emerging public health needs.
