The National Household Survey on Drug Abuse (NHSDA) annual survey dataset providing nationally representative data on substance use and related behaviors among the U.S. civilian, noninstitutionalized population aged 12 and older. NHSDA measured the prevalence and patterns of alcohol, tobacco, and illicit drug use and served as the predecessor to the National Survey on Drug Use and Health (NSDUH), which began in 2002. This NHSDA dataset’s time period covers the year 1990.
