NODC Standard Product: Korea Oceanographic Database (KOD)

This collection contains the Korea Oceanographic Database (KOD). This database was developed at the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration's (NOAA) National Oceanographic Data Center (NODC; now National Centers for Environmental Information (NCEI)) using historical data sets acquired from the National Fisheries Research Development Institute (NFRDI; now National Institute of Fisheries Science (NIFS)) in South Korea through a Joint Project Agreement. The database contains physical, meteorological, and biogeochemical surface and profile data collected from various platforms in the East China Sea, Yellow Sea, and Sea of Japan (East Sea), from 1905-01-12 to 2008-09-30. NCEI decommissioned the KOD on December 31, 2025 with no plans for further updates. Upon termination, the underlying data will be available from this collection.
