Published by California Department of Fish and Wildlife | State of California | Catalog Last Checked: July 28, 2025 at 10:08 PM | Dataset Last Updated: May 31, 2024 at 09:11 PM
An ArcGIS geoprocessing model built upon a personal geodatabase (.mdb file) with stored access queries and functions which output formatted results. The data summaries and report formats are consistent with those used in MPA planning throughout the MLPA implementation process. The model classifies marine habitats across the following categories: + Depth (min and max) + Intertidal shoreline type (beaches, rocky, tidal flat, coastal marsh) + Coastal marsh areas beyond estuaries + Estuaries + Surfgrass + Eelgrass + Predicted benthic substrate type (hard or soft, stratified by depth) + Kelp canopy (1989, 1999, 2002 – 2006, 2008, average) + Submarine canyons stratified by depth This data and metadata were submitted by California Department of Fish and Wildlife (CDFW) Staff though the Data Management Plan (DMP) framework with the id: DMP000475.
