Methane (CH4) in water, Methane (CH4) stable carbon isotope ratios, and others in Rock Creek, Chesapeake Bay from 2016-07-12 to 2021-08-06 (NCEI Accession 0244510)

There are three data types in this dataset. 1) Dissolved methane concentrations and stable carbon isotope ratios were measured from water samples collected in the water column and sediments of Rock Creek, a tributary to the Chesapeake Bay. Sample were collected when aerators were on and off. 2) Methane, sulfate, and chloride concentrations measured from bottom waters of Rock Creek collected with OsmoSamplers. Salinity was then calculated from chloride measurements. OsmoSamplers use osmosis to slowly collect water samples over time which are stored in copper tubing and analyzed back at the laboratory. 3) Methane concentrations and stable carbon isotope ratios were measured in air above water in Rock Creek, a tributary to the Chesapeake Bay when the aerators were on and off.
