Updated weekly on Thursdays
Older adults and people with disabilities who live in long term care facilities are at high risk for COVID-19 illness and death. The data below describes the impacts of COVID-19 on the residents and staff of Long Term Care Facilities licensed by the State Department of Social and Health Services (DSHS), including Skilled Nursing Facilities (nursing homes); Adult Family Homes and Assisted Living Facilities.
Cases and deaths are also occurring in other forms of senior housing not licensed by DSHS, including subsidized housing for people age 50+, Permanent Supportive Housing, and naturally occurring retirement communities (NORCs) and among people with disabilities living in Supportive Living Facilities (also licensed by DSHS).
