    Lobbyist Summary

    Metadata Updated: January 3, 2026

    This dataset contains information about lobbyists and the totals from all their L2s for a given year.

    In the context of this dataset, “lobbyist” refers to a lobbying organization that may employ more than one person who lobbies.

    Reporting Format Changes: As of October 30, 2024, the data structure for reporting categories changed. The use_categories field indicates submission format coverage in a given year: 'new' for updated format only, 'legacy' for previous format only, and 'mixed' for both formats present in the same year. See the description of the “use_categories” column for more information.

    Data Coverage and Limitations: The data set covers that prior 16 years plus the current election year. Pre-2016 records are available in the separate "Pre-2016 Lobbyist Compensation and Expenses by Source" dataset. This is a best-effort compilation that may contain incomplete or incorrect information. Original reports remain accessible for record verification.

    Descriptions attached to this dataset do not constitute legal definitions; please consult RCW 42.17A and WAC Title 390 for legal definitions and additional information regarding political finance disclosure requirements.

    CONDITION OF RELEASE: This publication and or referenced documents constitutes a list of individuals prepared by the Washington State Public Disclosure Commission and may not be used for commercial purposes.
