Katahdin Woods and Waters National Monument TFG Unit Vegetation Mapping Project
The Katahdin Woods and Waters (KAWW) National Monument TFG Unit Vegetation Mapping Project was initiated in the fall of 2022 by a grant through the USGS Natural Resource Preservation Program (NRPP) to classify and map vegetation types of the TFG Unit, thereby providing resource managers and biological researchers with useful baseline vegetation information. These data provide the information used to support the report titled Vegetation Map for the TFG Unit of Katahdin Woods and Waters National Monument. These information were collected in 2023.
The information in the project data are explained in depth in the project report.
The packages of files available for download are:
1. “KAWW_TFG_Unit.gdb.zip”. Final shapefiles tables, and associated metadata imported into the file geodatabase using ArcCatalog.
2. “KAWW_TFG_Unit_AA_Photos_Data.zip”. A table containing the metadata for each accuracy assessment site photo.
3. “KAWW_TFG_Unit_AA_Site_Photos_01-19.zip”. Accuracy assessment photos for sites 1 - 19.
4. “KAWW_TFG_Unit_AA_Site_Photos_20-39.zip”. Accuracy assessment photos for sites 20 - 39.
5. “KAWW_TFG_Unit_AA_Site_Photos_40-59.zip”. Accuracy assessment photos for sites 40 - 59.
6. “KAWW_TFG_Unit_AA_Site_Photos_60-82.zip”. Accuracy assessment photos for sites 60 - 82.
7. “KAWW_TFG_Unit_Project_Boundary.zip”. A shapefile of the project boundary.
8. “KAWW_TFG_Unit_Vegetation_Plots_Species.zip”. A table of plant species identified during the project.
9. “KAWW_TFG_Unit_Vegetation_Points.zip”. A shapefile of the project vegetation collection locations.
10. “KAWW_TFG_Unit_Vegetation_Polygons.zip”. A shapefile of the project vegetation community mapping.
11. “KAWW_TFG_Unit_Vegetation_tPlots_Data.zip”. A table with the results of the project vegetation surveys for both vegetation plots and accuracy assessment sites.
12. “KAWW_TFG_Unit_VP_Photos_Data.zip”. A table containing the metadata for each vegetation plot site photo.
