IVyTools discharge and uncertainty results for eight benchmark image velocimetry videos: Ancillary Scripts
This child item contains Python scripts used to extract data from IVyTools project files and to generate figures for the associated publication. The following scripts are included:
<ul>
<li><strong>extract_ivy_uncertainty.py:</strong> Extracts International Organization for Standardization (ISO) 748 and Interpolated Variance Estimator (IVE) uncertainty component values from IVyTools .ivy project files (ZIP archives containing project_data.json). Produces the extracted_ivy_data_v1.4.0.0.csv file in the Uncertainty Analysis child item.</li>
<li><strong>IVyTools_uncert_plots.py:</strong> Generates the uncertainty contribution figure (figure-6.png) from the extracted CSV data. Produces an eight-panel bar chart showing fractional contributions of each uncertainty component to total discharge variance for all VGC2020 sites.</li>
</ul>
<strong>Software Requirements:</strong> To execute these scripts, users will need Python 3.9 or later with the following packages: matplotlib, numpy, pandas (for the plotting script). The extraction script uses only Python standard library modules (zipfile, json, csv, os, math).
