Iowa Unemployment Insurance Potential Duration of Benefits (Annual)

This dataset reports the average potential duration in weeks for persons establishing a new benefit year for unemployment insurance. The statutory maximum potential duration is 26 weeks (or 39 weeks for a business establishment closing). The statutory maximum potential duration was reduced to 16 weeks (or 26 weeks for a business establishment closing) effective July 3, 2022. Source: ETA-218 (Benefits Rights and Experience Report). Includes Regular UI only. Does not include special temporary programs such as Extended Benefits (EB) or Pandemic Emergency Unemployment Compensation (PEUC).
